Our Environmental Priorities

  • Sustainable Business
  • Environmental Priorities

Like many businesses, Fraser C Robb has been working to reduce wastage and make its operation more efficient. But it was, as Director Lorna Robb explains, the success of the Business Hub launched in 2019, together with its ever-expanding range of battery products, inspired a new series of pledges and priorities.

'The introduction of Drymen Business Hub above our showroom created a space for local people to have business meetings and meet agency representatives such as Business Gateway. The result has helped significantly reduce car journeys to Stirling and stimulated new businesses and innovation in our area.

For Fraser C Robb, battery equipment has been a game-changer, creating a greener, cleaner, and more efficient product range of garden equipment affordable for both our domestic and commercial customers.'

Fraser C Robb began trading in 1975, and over that time, three generations of the family have worked in the business. Located on the boundary of Scotland's first National Park, Fraser C Robb is a significant employer in the local rural economy and has provided many school leavers with their first jobs, offering training, mentoring and apprenticeships.

Fraser C Robb owners and its staff compiled these sensible but ambitious pledges and priorities which are now displayed on a large board for customers to see when visiting its showroom.

As Lorna explains, it's been a positive and straightforward task to enthuse Net-Zero.

'We have taken ownership to inspire our team, customers, and suppliers to reduce the carbon footprint, which has been very well-received. Their huge level of support for this has motivated us to work harder and faster to ensure that our business remains sustainable over the longer term.'

The pledges are:

We will lead by example and inspire our team, customers, and suppliers to reduce the carbon footprint, contributing to developing a net-zero Scotland by 2045.

We will encourage our customers to move to battery-powered equipment and demonstrate the positive effect they bring to the environment and their business or home.

We will play an active role in developing a more sustainable rural economy, working with local businesses and agencies, using our business hub environment, and encouraging #buylocal to ensure lower emissions.

Through training, communication, and monitoring, we will demonstrate a reduction in waste and achieve a greener and more efficient operation within our showroom and workshop.

Replacement company vehicles will be, where possible, electric or at least much more fuel-efficient. We will introduce electric charging points to encourage team members to use electric cars for personal use.
